Rainy days
22/11/2009
Novemeber has been a rather quiet month for my dogs competing as the Flyball tournaments have died down as the festive month fast approaches. I went to Newark last weekend where I was lucky enough to run Missie for Northants Falcons. The day was great and felt like the old times when I first started doing Flyball. Northants Falcons ran amazingly well and managed to win division 1 beating Cleveland in an close fought 5 legger. To top this off their second team Northants Hawks won division 2 and hit a fastest seed time ever. While we were up there we met up with Tom and Kate who blood tested our dogs ready for EFC 2010, so hopefully all goes well and all the dogs pass their blood tests.
Back at High Flyers team training camp things are progressing nicely with dogs improving in different aspects of the sport. Voltage are getting better each week and are starting to break the 18 second barrier so lets hope at Doncaster they can hit a 17 second time. Flyers are mainly focusing on box work throughout the winter and gelling as a team and the dog order has changed with Millie now running anchor. High Velocity are having a total revamp for the 2010 season as two new dogs will make their open debut in this team. This is quite exciting for the team which hopes to smash their seed time and also includes my Bryn running in the team.
Bryn has been mated with a WSD called Kia who does Flyball with Northants. Everything seemed to go smoothly with the mating so if all goes well puppies should arrive around early January.
Updates!
19/10/2009
It's been a while since I last updated the site but things have been hectic recently. Firstly I moved out of my house leaving the dogs behind with the parents and moved into University halls and have started my degree. There was me thinking that I will be much more independant as a student but find myself returning home each weekend to take my Flyball training, but I don't mind as I get to see the dogs and keep doing the Flyball.
We are currently starting our winter training programme as we had a bit of a anti-climax at Becketts tournament where nothing seemed to go right. The dogs performed well but handler error was apparent and we just looked a mess. But I would to take Jills view on it as it was a positive sum up of the day. "Although you didn't race very well there were parts were you all looked really good and unbeatable". To read the tournament report click [Here]
Oh and the photo at the top of this post is a photograph that I took at the weekend with my new phone. I got excited and wanted to check out the camera so I took a photo of Logan and Badger in the garden, love the way how it feels very autumn like.
16.66

Badger and the Flyers run fastest time in Britain of 16.66 at Shackerstone, Leicestershire. Badger who runs anchor helped the team gain this new achievement. The whole team really pulled together and all 5 dogs ran awesome. Well done to all dogs - Millie, Maizie, Tanner, Badger & Chuckle.

Badger and his fellow team mates in the High Flyers we unable to retain the BFA cup this time round losing out the the BFA record holders Bassett Hotdogs. The team ran well but were just outclassed by the new champions. Back to the drawing board for next year as we look forward to having another shot at the Europeans.
High Flyers head to Chilterns!

The High Flyers are taking three teams to the Bandits show this weekend. High Flyers have the usual line up with Tizer going into Voltage strengthening that team. Let's hope for many rosettes and quick times!
